The Nursing HOME

The nursing home project was my university diploma thesis. For about five months, I lived alongside the residents of the nursing home affiliated with Istanbul’s Surp Pirgic Hospital, witnessing their daily lives and sharing their experiences. This project is one of the most impactful experiences of my life. Even at just 25 years old, it gave me profound insights into aging and the future. What you see here is a selection of photographs exhibited as part of my diploma project. The rest remain in my archive, waiting for a future exhibition. Huzurevi projesi benim üniversite diploma ödevimdi. İstanbul Surp Pırgiç Hastanesi’ne bağlı huzurevinde yaklaşık beş ay boyunca huzurevi sakinleriyle birlikte yaşadım, onların günlük hayatlarına tanık oldum. Bu proje, hayatımı en çok etkileyen deneyimlerden biri oldu. Henüz 25 yaşında olmama rağmen, bana yaşlılık ve gelecek hakkında derin bir farkındalık kazandırdı.
